Wagga Wagga, or “Central” as it’s more commonly known, is the centre of the city, and understandably one of the largest suburbs of the area. Boasting a broad range of coffee shops, restaurants and boutiques, along with two notable shopping centres, Central comprises a variety of housing options, from units and apartments, to older style homesteads, terraces, townhouses and modern houses. With the Murrumbidgee River winding its way through the district, many residences boast views of the river or lagoon in addition to the convenient central location.

Bolton Park – Corner Morgan & Tarcutta Streets, Wagga Wagga NSW 2650
The main sporting field in Central Wagga, Bolton Park caters to a variety of sports with three cricket fields, four grass fields and a skate park. Other features include a playground, picnic area with electric barbeques, change room facilities, toilets and boom gate access onto the grounds.

Cabarita Park – Tarcutta Street, Wagga Wagga NSW 2650
Located between the Murrumbidgee River and Tarcutta Street, near the Visitor Information Centre, the park features play equipment, barbeque facilities, seating areas and off street parking. The Park is located on the Bidgee River trail walk.

Collins Park – Forsyth, Fox, Thorne & Tompson Streets, Wagga Wagga NSW 2650
An historic park with well-maintained gardens and mature trees, monument to the Boer War featuring an historic canon, covered barbeque facilities and pergola, public toilets and children’s playground.

Duke of Kent Sports Ground – Shaw Street, Wagga Wagga NSW 2650
Located in Central, the Duke of Kent Park has two synthetic cricket pitches used by the Wagga Wagga & District Cricket Association, three soccer fields used by Football Wagga Wagga, training lights for fields one and two, and toilet facilities.

Robertson Oval – Bolton Park, Tarcutta Street, Wagga Wagga NSW 2650
Part of Bolton Park, Robertson Oval is home to Wagga Tigers Football Club, who have their own clubhouse. The oval also includes a cricket turf pitch, toilet facilities and change rooms. This oval is closed, due to major refurbishments currently in progress, but will soon be a major sporting arena for the Riverina.

Victory Memorial Gardens – Corner Baylis & Morrow Streets, Wagga Wagga NSW 2650
Opposite the Civic Theatre, located on the banks of the Murrumbidgee, the Victory Memorial Gardens are a memorial to Australian service personnel and include historic monuments to significant military events. Facilities include well-maintained landscaped gardens and established trees, picnic tables and chairs throughout the park, children’s playground, historic fountain and extensive lawns. A dawn service is traditionally held here each Anzac Day.

Wagga Cricket Ground – Corner Shaw & Kincaid Streets, Wagga Wagga NSW 2650
The main ground for the Wagga Wagga & District Cricket Association, the grounds also feature a cycling track with lights, grandstand, change rooms, toilet facilities and grass wicket.
