A north-eastern suburb of Wagga Wagga, Cartwrights Hill is bordered by Bomen to the east and Estella to the west. Older style homes on large parcels of land are a dominant feature in the semi-rural suburb. Located just ten minutes from the central business district of Wagga Wagga, Cartwrights Hill provides a country lifestyle with the conveniences of the nearby city, and is probably most well-known for the Red Steer Hotel Motel, which was once a favourite amongst locals.

Did you know…
- Cartwrights Hill was named after Thomas Cartwright and his family, the original owners of the land back in the late 1850s. Some controversy surrounds the family, for Thomas, a pardoned convict, ex-police constable and shepherd originally from Ireland was arrested and tried for the murder of his wife using a fire-shovel. The charge was later down-graded to manslaughter.
